Animal Guardian was founded to inform and inspire people about how animals can be heroes. Visitors to the site are encouraged to become involve, not only read stories posted by others, but post their own stories.

Many types of animals can help people. In our research, stories about dolphins, dogs, and cats were identified. There are a number of documented cases where dolphins have aided swimmers and surfers. Dogs are known for their loyalty and assistance to their owners. Cats also have saved their owners from harm.

Training Dogs
Dog can be trained as service dogs, police or military dogs, and for search and rescue assistance. Service dogs usually assist disabled individuals. They are taught to help with daily activities and watch over their owners. Police and military dogs help their trainers with important duties. They can be trained to sniff out drugs and bombs. They can also help capture someone. Search and rescue dogs are trained to help locate people. This can be someone who is lost, buried in an avalanche, or trapped under debris in a building collapse. When there is an earthquake, search and rescue dogs are used to help find people who are trapped.
